Abbreviations

T4 - Lotus 2004/5 ECU shaped like a wedge, smooth metal finish, has black plastic bung in front (its not a tuning hole! )

T4E- Lotus 2006+ ECU smaller and has go faster aerodynamic fins for heat displacement.

K4 - Earlier verison of EFI ECU

OBD - On Board Diagnostics, a standard so that you can find out what might be wrong with your car.

CAN - Controller Area Network, its a network designed for car peripherals to chat to each other without fear of noise

CAI - Cold Air Intake , thing that makes lots of noise and can cause idle issues, it also appears on ebay alot, and late nite TV commercials, just like everything else that works this well.

DBW - Drive by wire, See TBW

TBW - Throttle By Wire, throttle is now electronic, it has two sensors in the pedal that relay information back to the ECU, two are used to make sure its all working correctly, the ecu then uses that information to control the ECU, the DBW throttle butterfly motor can open end to end in 200ms, the CPU talks at 25Mhz, yet some people believe they can operate the throttle faster than this, or that lag is introduced (if it is, its deliberate)

ECU - Engine Control/Computer Unit, its a little PC inside your car that takes care of running the engine.

SC - Supercharger
